New documents 1930s

New documents from the 1930s have been added to the website:
- listing of the members of the Society for the Poor 1930-1939, available from here. It includes address and birth year,
- telephone directories 1932 and 1938, available from here. It includes address. Since there were only around 100 Jewish telephone owners (out of some 2000 families), many names are missing of course.
Thanks to Malki for this data.

Matzevot pictures project

The Kutno matzevot pictures are now all available. Pictures have been analysed and genealogical data on the stones has been transcribed in the caption.
Data was explicit (explicit information), implicit (acrostic names, Kohen/Levi heritage expressed in symbols) or inferred (database information was added when person was identified).

132 different matzevot were partly (102) or totally rebuilt (30) from the fragments. For 95 of them, the information is complete (name of deceased, name of father and date, sometimes with surnames). 32 have partial information and five have no information at all. For the moment, only nine belong to people mentioned in our database. Matzevot date from 1825 to 1936.

Deep thanks are owed to Mr Paweł Andrzej Szymczak, director of the Kutno Regional Museum, his predecessor Mr Andrzej Urbaniak and to the municipality of Kutno, who recovered the 700 fragments for years, numbered and photographed them, making all this possible.
